Right Place

A location that can be shown to be right.

A location that can be shown to be right. The site decides the length of pipelines, the number and size of pumping stations, the route to the sea and the impact on land, homes, farms, heritage and the bay. It must be chosen openly, on evidence.

Our questions

  1. Will Uisce Éireann publish the full site register, the scoring, and the reasons each site was ruled in or out?
  2. How do the whole-life costs of Calluragh compare with sites closer to existing infrastructure, including Site A and Site C2?
  3. Who asked for sites to be considered further south of Lahinch, and why?
  4. What are the combined impacts of the full scheme: plant, pipelines, pumping stations and outfall, not each part in isolation?
  5. Have springs, wells, groundwater, field drainage and built heritage on and near the route been surveyed?
  6. How will Liscannor Bay, its communities, livelihoods and natural heritage be protected during construction and operation?

What we are asking for

A transparent, published comparison of all assessed sites, including those closer to existing infrastructure, with the environmental and whole-life impacts of the complete scheme taken into account.
